Guardrails are the built-in safety boundaries that tell AgentNode when to keep going and when to stop. Whenever a conversation moves into territory that needs a licensed professional, a clear human decision, or anything the AI isn’t confident about, AgentNode stops replying and hands the thread to you — before it has a chance to say the wrong thing. You stay in control of every conversation that matters most.

What triggers a hand-off

Any of these situations will cause AgentNode to stop and escalate the conversation to your Inbox:

Unexpected reply

The lead says something outside what the campaign was designed to handle — a topic, question, or direction the AI wasn’t set up to respond to.

Booking request

A lead is ready to book and needs calendar confirmation. AgentNode flags it so you can lock in the appointment directly.

Sensitive topic

The lead raises a subject that requires a licensed professional’s response — such as price, commission, contracts, legal questions, or property condition.

Direct question

The lead asks something specific that AgentNode cannot answer with confidence, rather than risk giving an incorrect or misleading reply.

How escalation works

When AgentNode decides a conversation needs you, here’s exactly what happens:
1

AgentNode stops replying

The thread is paused immediately. No further automated messages are sent while it’s waiting for you.
2

The conversation appears in Needs You

It shows up in the left column of your Inbox — the first thing you see when you open AgentNode.
3

You see the full context

The lead’s history, what they asked, and why the conversation was escalated are all there, so you can jump in without needing to catch up.
4

You respond directly

Reply from within AgentNode. Once you’ve handled it, you can switch the AI back on for that thread and AgentNode will resume from where it left off — or keep it in manual mode if you’d prefer to stay in the driving seat.
AgentNode only contacts leads you have imported. When you upload a CSV, you confirm that the contacts in that file are people you have a legitimate prior business relationship with or who have otherwise given consent to be contacted. That record is tied to your account from the moment of import. This means AgentNode never reaches out to someone you haven’t explicitly brought into the platform — and every conversation it starts has a documented consent basis behind it.
AgentNode errs on the side of caution. If it isn’t confident, it stops and asks you — it never guesses at sensitive real-estate questions or legal matters.
