# Set Up AgentNode and Send Your First AI-Drafted SMS

> Create your account, set your messaging preferences, import contacts, and send AI-personalised follow-up texts to dormant leads today.

This guide takes you from a blank account to your first AI-drafted SMS sent to a real lead. By the end you'll have your settings configured, your contacts imported, and AgentNode actively working through your list — all in a single session.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Create your account">
    Go to [goagentnode.com](https://www.goagentnode.com) and click **Get early access**. Enter your name and work email address, then check your inbox for the confirmation code AgentNode sends you. Enter the code to verify your email. Once confirmed, you can optionally set a password — or skip this and sign in with an email code every time.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Configure your settings">
    Before AgentNode can draft messages, it needs two pieces of information from you:

    * **What you message leads about** — describe the kinds of conversations you typically have: buying, selling, investment properties, a specific neighbourhood, or a mix.
    * **When you send** — set the days and times you're comfortable with AgentNode sending on your behalf.

    These become the AI's working instructions. You can change either one at any time in **Settings** from the main navigation.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Import your contacts">
    Export a CSV from your CRM or spreadsheet — any file that includes names and phone numbers will work. Then:

    1. Open the **Inbox** and click **Import CSV**.
    2. Upload your file and map the columns to AgentNode's fields (name, number, notes, and any custom data).
    3. AgentNode remembers your column mapping for next time, so future imports from the same source are instant.
    4. Click **Finish** to complete the import.

    AgentNode deduplicates your contacts automatically during import, so uploading an updated version of the same list won't create double entries.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Start your first outreach">
    As soon as your import finishes, AgentNode asks what you'd like to do with the contacts you just added. You have three options:

    * **Reach out** — send an AI-drafted personalised message to each contact right now.
    * **Add to a campaign** — enrol them in an ongoing automated outreach campaign.
    * **Nothing yet** — import without taking any action; you can reach out later from the Contacts page.

    Choose **Reach out** to have AgentNode draft a personalised opening message for each new lead. Review the drafts, make any edits, and send.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## What happens next

Once your first messages are sent, AgentNode takes over the follow-up. The AI replies to incoming responses, keeps the conversation moving, and continues working through your list on the schedule you set. You don't need to be involved for every exchange.

When a conversation reaches a point the AI can't handle — a question about price, contract terms, or anything that needs a real decision — AgentNode stops, flags the thread, and moves it to **Needs You** at the top of your Inbox. That's your signal to step in. Everything else keeps running in the background while you focus on the conversations that matter most.
